24 hr consumption (Heejin Joanne Ju)

(Fun!)

As I went on writing list of things I consumed in 24 hours, I realized that everything (except air) that I use everyday are made or prepared by someone else.

For instance, to eat even as natural food as an apple, is grown by someone else (pesticides or other farming tools used), transported by someone else, packed and package designed by someone else and sold in grocery stores that are operated by other people.

Which shows that I live in completely industrialized society, and I am very accustomed by such system to the point that I cannot survive without having to pay for other people's service anymore.

Also, about 60% of consumed good are for "Needs", but half of that 60% are used for keeping up the appearance of myself (Hygiene, Clothing, etc) and the appearance of my environment (closet, drawer, organizers in my room, etc).

I never considered myself to be shallow or materialistic, but the statistics proves that I still try to live up to social standards of beauty and norms.

Those facts that I have mentioned above are the most significant discoveries that I made about my current life style.

I must say that it was quite refreshing.

Here is a little illustration:
This was my exact reaction while I was organizing information
